A half-day internship at the Kwun Tong shop

The TKO Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) recently organized a group of 7 passionate youth volunteers to participate in a half-day internship at the Kwun Tong shop on August 1st and August 8th. These energetic young people opted to forgo their usual football games and strolls and instead donned their work attire to gain practical experience as shop assistants.

Not only did these vibrant youths learn the essential skills of retail work, such as maintaining proper grooming, delivering friendly smiles, and initiating greetings, but they also cultivated a deeper sense of compassion for serving the underprivileged. During the shop's "Food Cherishing" lunchtime distribution activity, the volunteers diligently handled member registration, maintained order, assisted the elderly in obtaining their meals, and supported one another with encouragement. The shop manager, VV, praised them as exceptional helpers.

We firmly believe that this group of youth, brimming with a spirit of care and concern, will continue to spread this warmth and dedication to our community as they grow older. Empathy, mutual trust, and a shared commitment to address the challenges faced by those in need. Let us applaud the efforts of these "community ambassadors" who have boldly stepped up to make a difference.
